Fighting Their Demons

All kinds of factors play in to someone having PTSD. Being a veteran, a bad accident, or in Jase's case, he has it from the time he was a kid. He had to watch from the plated door of the closet as his own brother murdered his family. He has PTSD from having to kill his own brother. They call him Pitbull because he's fiercely protective of those he loves, and he can be as mean as one if someone he loves is in danger.

She's always loved animals. It didn't matter which animal it was, she loved them all. She just loved working with dogs a little bit more than the others. Training them to help someone going through something, or just for an everyday pet, made her heart full and her mind busy. She didn't have to think about how she got pregnant from a stranger. She didn't have to think about how she's always alone when she needs someone the most. She didn't have to think about anything, she could just focus on making someone else's life that much more better. Hailey has always felt like a burden, like she didn't fit anywhere, and like she was always being forgotten.

That all changes when Jase Cain walks into her shop. Her life, her children's life, will never be the same, and she's not sure how she feels about it. After being alone for so long, she's not sure how to comprehend someone wanting her.

The Final Fight

He's always been a scrapper. Wherever a fight was, he was normally there. This fight is different though, there's a lot on the line. He wants her, and the only way to get her is to fight her captor.

Baron always wanted what his parents have. He wants that love that never goes away. He quit looking when he didn't find her. When he finally quit, she practically falls at his feet, but there's a problem. She's in the hands of his enemy, and the only way to get her, to make her his, is the fight him, or kill him. By the end of the night, he might just do both.

She ran away at the age of sixteen, fell in love with whom she thought was a nice man, but he turned out to be a monster. She's been his captive for years with no escape in sight. Until him. He's her salvation, but he has more in mind than she's willing to give. She vowed long ago to never let a man control her again, and she plans on sticking to that.
